About Shaneeka

A singer-songwriter from the modern era with a special voice & a natural charisma, reminiscent of vocal legends & greats such as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Gladys Knight, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday.

She possesses a deft deep soul that can only come from a genuine understanding of the experience, art and tradition of singing music associated with the Black experience and living a hard knock life to fuel her unique expressions.

Her journey as a singer began at a very young age in church gospel choirs under her Grandmother's leadership and guidance in London. Her love for singing blossomed there, leading her to become a regular first call session singer on major studio recordings in London’s session scene.

A Mother of 4, who has experience of abuse as a child as well as an adult has channeled her pain and joys into a wonderfully crafted debut album steeped in truth and integrity, Produced & Co-written ‘by British Producer/Musician Glen Scott. (Shawn Mendes, Backstreet Boys, Craig David,Eric Bibb, James Blunt, Beverley Knight, Ron Sexsmith to name a few).

Guest appearances from Grammy Nominee Eric Bibb and Eric Leeds (Prince) add to the debut as Shaneeka deftly sings of her trials and tribulations and how she has overcome throughout a candid yet poetically provoking & entertaining 14 tracklisting.
